Madison Larimore just returned from the 12th annual Youth Advocacy Symposium in Washington, D.C., as the Tobacco-Free Kids’ central region Youth Advocate of the Year. Her lobbying efforts with the group have already resulted in a state ban on the sale of e-cigarettes to minors and the adoption of policies which regulate the placement of tobacco products in retail stores.

Teens from all over Nebraska are serving their state by leading No Limits’ – a statewide youth-led tobacco prevention movement. The 10 teens who were chosen following a statewide application process, will serve on a youth leadership board for the 2015–2016 term.

The group, No Limits Nebraska, put on the effort to stop tobacco advertising to youth.Today’s 5th annual event kicked off with a meeting between students and their state senators. Then, the group marched through the streets of downtown Lincoln chanting anti–tobacco cheers, leading all the way up to the steps of the Capitol.
