Flash Mob
How you can be a part of it
Start assembling your flash mob by requesting a No Limits Kick Butts Day Toolkit. All requests must be made by March 11. Kits are limited, so request one today.
Here’s what you’ll get:
- Flash Mob Instructions
- T-Shirts
- Iron-On Transfers
- Press Release
How it works
- Grab your KBD toolkit and start assembling your t-shirt message. The front of your shirts should read If our product is harmful, we’ll stop making it right now. And the back should read 14400.
- Go to your planned venue. This should be a busy place such as the school cafeteria, the mall, a street corner, etc.
- Place someone from your group in the crowd with a video camera or a camera-phone so you can get video or pictures of your event. Later, you can post it on YouTube and send it to friends, or send it to us, and we’ll post it on the No Limits Web site!
- Have your flash mob line up and get ready! All at once, have everyone countdown loudly from six (someone dies every six seconds from a tobacco-related disease). At the end of your countdown have one member of your group fall to the ground. Begin counting down again and have another member of the flash mob fall down. Keep doing this until only one person is left standing.
- This last person standing will shout: “Every six seconds someone dies from a tobacco-related disease. In 1974, a Philip Morris Vice President said, ‘If our product is harmful, we’ll stop making it right now.’ We want to know, isn’t 14,400 deaths daily proof enough?”
- As soon as your speaker is done saying the line, everyone in the flash mob should get up and walk away.
For this flash mob, you’ll need to have a group of at least five people and one adult sponsor. We’re confident that you know what you’re doing, but it always helps to have an adult available just in case. Have fun! |
