3. How did No Limits get started?

No Limits began in the fall of 2001 when a group of teens from all over the state came together to discuss how tobacco was affecting Nebraska and what they could do about it. This group called itself Teen FYI. Since its inception, the No Limits Youth Board (formerly Teen FYI) has led the movement by selecting the name and logo for No Limits through an online vote, working as youth trainers during the youth summit, and selecting the gear that is spreading across the state. No Limits officially launched at the youth summit April 12–14, 2001.

4. What does the name mean? How was it chosen?

The name means two things. First, there are no limits to the things tobacco companies will try to get young people addicted to their BS product. Second, there are no limits to how far Nebraska teens will go to fight the tobacco industry.

Youth from all around the state voted online to select the name No Limits from six choices that were provided by Teen FYI.

5. How can I get involved?

There is no right or wrong way to be part of No Limits. Whether you are sporting a No Limits beanie or putting on the finishing touches of the best-ever street tag, you are participating in the movement and getting the message out there. One big way to stay involved is to check out the No Limits message board. Let everyone know how you really feel about Big Tobacco.

This youth movement is made possible by Tobacco Free Nebraska, a program of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. The funding comes in part from the Master Settlement Agreement, which ended a lawsuit filed by 46 states against the tobacco industry.
